The new series available via Emily Hadley is called "Dancing in the rain". As someone living with a dynamic disability & chronic pain I’m learning to find the beauty in the everyday, searching out those glimmers. Nature has always been my refuge & continues to inspire my work. The rhythm of the seasons, to the crashing of waves, the patterns of the natural world press on no matter what is happening in our own lives, something bigger than us. I find that hugely comforting. Joy & pain can coexist! I think that’s something we can all relate too.

ARTIST STATEMENT & BIO
Personal Profile
My artwork explores the dynamic interplay between my external and internal landscapes. Living in rural Devon, I am constantly inspired by the natural world from the patchwork of fields that surround me, to the varied wider landscapes beyond. With my home studio perched on the hillside I am able to immerse myself in the beauty of nature, observing the changing weather and seasons, to the human interactions that shape our relationship with the outdoors.
My creative process is intuitive, using mixed media, I love to experiment with different techniques, mediums, and tools to create an expression of a moment. My aim is not to replicate what I see, but to convey an experience. As someone living with a disability, my real life experiences inform the way I see the world and my artwork is a reflection of that.
Creating art allows me to tune into myself and provides a welcome respite as the ideas evolve intuitively on the canvas. I love hearing how others connect with and interpret my work; Their unique perspectives add a new layer of depth, or can even take on a whole new meaning for each viewer.
